Senior Corporate Lawyer Cork € 100,000 +
This leading Irish company is responsible for building, owning and operating transmission and distribution networks delivering gas to over 550,000 industrial, commercial and residential customers. The company is also a major energy supplier
The Role:
- Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, the successful candidate will be a key member of the legal department;
- Providing advice on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues across the business
- Supervising external legal advisers where required
- Drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements, including gas connection agreements, gas purchase agreements and construction contracts.
- Day-to-day running/management of the legal department;
- Assisting with all legal matters, including legal requirements arising from legislation and regulation;
- Responsible for all property and facilities matters, including acquisitions and disposals of property, security etc.
- Assisting with all legal aspects of corporate governance
- Assisting the CLO in negotiations of all financing documents
- Assisting in the negotiations of all commercial agreements, including large (over €200 million) energy contracts
- Responsible for litigation matters
- Responsible for employment law issues, including employment contracts, disputes and internal investigations
The Successful Candidate:
The successful candidate will be a qualified solicitor or barrister with significant experience (5-10 years) and excellent commercial awareness. Strong academic qualifications are essential. Expertise in the areas of energy, regulation, commercial contracts, construction, projects or a related area will be a strong advantage. The successful candidate will have exceptional analytical and communication skills together
with the ability to work effectively as part of multi-disciplinary teams.
