In-House Aviation Finance Lawyer, Dublin Salary € Negotiable
Headquartered in Dublin, Our Client is a dedicated aviation leasing and financing division of a global banking group. With a global customer portfolio of more that 100 airlines, our client has emerged as a market leader in aviation financing.
The legal department is responsible for providing legal support to all aspects of the business. The position of lawyer is a new position and is the first step in the development of a fully functional legal team for the business.
This role will have certain distinct functions:
Assistant to the Chief Legal officer; provide general assistance and support on day to day matters, special projects and strategic initiatives.
Support to the Transaction Process
• General; advise the Deal Team on legal issues that arise during any of the Term Sheet, Documentation, or Delivery phases of a transaction.
• Jurisdiction Review; obtaining and interpreting all relevant jurisdiction advice and preparing clear and practical summaries for the Deal Team
• Opinions; reviewing, commenting on, and where necessary, negotiating transaction related legal opinions
Portfolio Management; advise on all post closing transaction matters (eg subleases, amendments, extensions, defaults enforcements etc.)
Documentation
• Drafting; drafting of certain documentation to support the Transaction Negotiation, Technical and Transaction Management functions
• Standard Forms; the development and implementation of precedent and standard form documentation
• Diligence; analysis and review of existing transactions to support the Aircraft Trading, Transaction Negotiation and Transaction Management teams;
Corporate Governance
• Transaction Committee; management of the transaction approval process
• Secretarial; responsible for all internal corporate approvals;
External Counsel; Assistance in the development of relationships with external counsel, budgeting and invoicing
Group Legal; developing relationships with the Group Legal Team to ensure a consistent application of all best practices to the business
Interested applicants will be a recently qualified Lawyer up to 2 years pqe. You will have a strong commercial or financial services background and be keen to specialise in the aircraft financing arena. You will be ambitious, dynamic and be hungry for a challenging role in a highly progressive organisation. This role will provide the successful candidate with front end exposure to business deals.
