In-House banking Lawyer Dublin Salary €Neg
Our Client, a global investment bank with a reputation for excellence in their field, is seeking to recruit a Banking lawyer for their Dublin office. The successful candidate will specialise primarily in derivatives product coverage, commercial lending/ loan trading and general legal services
Key Responsibilities:
Derivatives Product Coverage:
- The role requires a working knowledge of ISDA documentation; giving advice on legal issues relating to netting, types of products that can be traded - derivative products and commodities; advice on the structuring of trades.
- Whilst the ISDA documentation is negotiated mainly in London, the role will require the negotiation, drafting and review of ISDA and ancillary documents such as Credit Support Annexes, amendment Agreements and specific provisions to be included in confirmations.
- Maintaining and storing files of original ISDA documents.
Commercial Lending/ Loan trading:
The role requires a working knowledge of commercial contracts, Irish legal principles pertaining to contracts, an application of appropriate policies. Whilst documentation is handled primarily by London, the role requires:
- Input from an Irish perspective on bank-related issues and possible tax sensitive aspects
- Facilitating the processing of documents on behalf of the Bank, involving dialogue with internal/external counsel and business groups.
- Drafting and review of powers of attorneys, signatory authorities where necessary;
- Drafting of internal agreements and documentation between entities;
- When required, the drafting of certain types of documentation.
General Legal Services for the Bank
Counsel provides legal support for various support functions within the Bank such as Credit, Finance, Regulatory and Treasury on a variety of legal and compliance matters, also including:
- Corporate Law: Assisting Company Secretariat and Compliance to ensure corporate documentation complies with Bank regulations and Irish Company law.
- Compliance Review and update of internal policies, Compliance Manuals Coordinating with Compliance training. Assisting in the preparation of documentation for Regulatory Audits, Board Meetings and Board Committees.
- General legal matters which arise in the normal course of business such as employment queries, pensions, data protection, services provision contracts with the Bank.
- Coverage of Local Laws/Policies. Participation on various committees in Ireland
