Capital Markets Lawyers – London Salary£60,000 – 120,000
Our Client, Clifford Chance, one of the world’s leading Law Firms, has retained our services to recruit capital markets lawyers for their London team. They are currently looking for lawyers from newly qualified to senior level to join their leading Debt and Equity Capital Markets practice. Although they prefer you to have previous capital markets experience, they will consider retraining junior lawyers if they have excellent academics and a background in general banking or finance law.
THE GROUP
Clifford Chance delivers their substantial securities expertise through the International Debt Equity and Capital Markets group of which the London based team is an integral part, advising on the English law aspects of deals worldwide. They work in seamless teams alongside their US securities lawyers. The securities practice as a whole constitutes from one of the foundations of the firm's consistently top ranked international finance and capital markets business. The team currently comprises 13 partners, 44 assistants plus a number of trainees.
THE WORK
They advise clients in all of the following areas:
- American and Global depository receipts; Certificates of deposit; Commercial papers; Convertible bonds; Euro bonds; Global and MTN programmes; International equity offerings; Project bonds; Repackagings; Real estate securities.
To name a few of their major investment bank clients:- ABN Amro, Bankers Trust, Chase, CitiBank, Deutsche, Goldman Sachs, HSBC Markets, JP Morgan, Merrill Lynch and Nomura.
EXPERIENCE
They are currently looking for lawyers from commonwealth jurisdictions from newly qualified to senior level.
Although preferred, at the more junior level you do not have to have capital markets experience, but you will have some corporate, commercial, banking or finance experience from a recognised practice. You will also have an outstanding academic history.
In all cases you should have first class legal ability coupled with a practical commercial approach, excellent drafting and communication skills and enjoy being part of a friendly outgoing team.
